Yerevan Traffic Police Guide

Yerevan traffic police and patrol services are important for anyone driving, renting a car, using a private transfer or dealing with a road incident in Armenia’s capital. They may be relevant after a traffic accident, vehicle collision, unsafe driving, blocked road, parking conflict, hit-and-run, road hazard, dispute with another driver or a situation that requires official police documentation. In urgent cases requiring police presence, the short emergency police number in Armenia is 102. Drivers should not leave the scene of a serious accident until the appropriate authorities have been contacted, especially if there are injuries, major damage or disagreement about what happened.

For road incidents, clear information matters. When calling, give the exact location, street name, nearby intersection or landmark, the direction of travel, number of vehicles involved, whether anyone is injured and whether traffic is blocked. If there are injuries, call 103 for ambulance as well. If there is fire, fuel leakage or a broader emergency, use 112, 911 or 101 depending on the danger. In Armenia, traffic-related situations may involve both patrol response and medical or rescue services, so the right number depends on the level of risk.

For non-emergency driver and vehicle services, Armenia’s Road Police online platform publicly lists +374 60 83 83 02 for questions related to driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, inspection services and appointment systems. This number is not the same as an emergency road accident number. It is more appropriate for administrative questions such as vehicle registration, licensing procedures, exam-related issues or online platform support. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also lists 158 Khorenatsi Street in Yerevan as an address connected with community police and patrol service-related questions and complaints.

If you are a foreign driver in Yerevan, keep your passport, driver’s license, international driving permit if required, rental agreement, vehicle registration and insurance documents in the car. After an accident, take photos only if it is safe, avoid moving vehicles unless safety requires it, and do not sign documents you do not understand. If language becomes a problem, contact your rental company, hotel, local host or embassy support if needed.
